Lazy Sunday afternoons

I feel as though I am the last person to hear about this site. However, I suppose better late than never, right? Like most, I have quickly fallen in love with her writing. Oh, how I wish I were that creative. Maybe in another life.

Now cooking...I can do. So, I figure I can at least use her recipes and pretend I am as creative.

This one was so simple, even a four year old could make them. So, I enlisted the help of my daughter to assist. Really, partly because I didn't care to unwrap the candy. But also, the quality time is good for both of us and she's really interested in food already.

I tend to turn into a lazy blob on Sunday afternoons after church. So, I take the Sabbath very seriously, as you can see. However, my sweet tooth never rests. And neither do the kids...*sigh*

All in all, this was really great to make. I plan to keep the ingredients on hand for when a sugar cravin' strikes. Camden was very proud of her accomplishment as well. Our conversation went something like this:

Me: "I'm going to put this on my website so everyone can see how great of a cook you are."
Camden: "No, how can everyone see? Only some can see, right?"
Me: "No, it will be up there and anyone that finds it on my blog will be able to see you helping me."
Camden: "Oh, okay. Well make sure you do that...so that not only one person can know, but everyone can know how great of a cook I am. Okay, Mom, okay?"

Don't worry. I haven't heard about that site either! And I think that anyone with over 100 cookbooks has a mild obsession lol Mine include the check-out books because those are usually what I find at flea markets. Church rummage sales are the best in finding cookbooks, especially vintage ones. Do you have an account at http://recipezaar.com? My account name is carlamoose. So far, I have 526 recipes saved (and I find new ones to add every day). You can search by ingredients, one of my favorite tools.

I'm not a huge fan of canned and boxed stuff either, but then again, I've never had fresh salmon to compare. Just please read the label and make sure it is skinless and boneless. It'll save you so much hassle! The patties are very simple to make. You can even have your daughter shape the patties (although it will be quite messy on her hands lol)

Those peanut butter cups look amazing. I could go for some right now.

We have so much in common. Are you sure you're not me from the future? After all, you are 4 years older haha

I'm going to link to your blog. I should do that now before I forget.

Hey Carla,

Jenn and I found this site when she was here in the fall and really like her recipes. I don't make many because they aren't very healthy fat wise, but they are a lot of fun to read about. Camden has gotten so big since the last picture I have from Jenn's visit. She is actually at the snow festival in No. Japan now and Caleb is in Guam for another couple of weeks. He has already been there 2 weeks training and also got his scuba certification. Anyway, the cookies look great and I love Reese's cups. Check out the Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls. Her's look really good too.

carla, thanks for linking me. If you ever get a chance to get fresh salmon I HIGHLY recommend it! I don't think I do have a recipezaar account, if I do, I forgot about it! lol. I am pretty notorious for signing up for things and forgetting about them.

Lynn, I have the same qualms as you about her recipes. But very they are great every once in a while. I am so jealous of Caleb! Tell him I'll do the training in his place so he can stay home with Jenn!
